Looks like I missed out on a few days so, we shall just have to go through a list of shows you should check out…
Simon Munnery
Just brilliantly funny. He does a solo show and I just found this too

Lovely bunch of guys who are very funny. Good show this year too – guaranteed a good time. C Soco Studio 2 at 4.35
| Scenes of a Sketchual Nature | |
| World premiere | |
| A hefty serving of fast-paced sleazed-up comedy soup. If music be the food of love, play on. If sketch comedy be the food of sex, dinner is served. ‘A must-see’ (Edfringe.tv). |
| The Penny Dreadfuls Present … The Never Man | |
| World premiere | |
| The acclaimed comedy troupe return with a new thriller set on a mysterious theme park island. ‘Pythonic, Blackaddery excellence’ - ***** (List).***** (Metro); ***** (ThreeWeeks). Sell-out 06-08. From BBC2 and BBC Radio 4. |
These edinburgh favourites have 5 stars coming out of their bottoms, but they have dropped the victorian theme; Still will be utterly brilliant.
| Powered By Demons | |
| Sell-out 2008, ‘Scottish comic illusionists, and their highly entertaining quickfire magic and oddball comedy’ (ThreeWeeks) present their new show. ‘Dark vaudeville for the 21st century’ (Metro). ‘Sarcastic … darkly brilliant … pure magic’ (List). |
Im pretty sure one of these guys magic’d me in pleasance last year and i was dumbfounded – I have certainly seen them on tv and they have a really dark sense of humour.
| Enough Rope | |
| A comedy that explodes the myth that chums actually like each other. ‘A keen eye for untapped sources of funny … a trio to watch out for in the future’ (Chortle.co.uk). ‘Something rather special’ (ThreeWeeks). |
Again, lovely guys and very funny. They got a random duck gimmick thing too which is cool.
| Tom Basden: Now That’s What I Call Music-Based Comedy! | |
| World premiere | |
| if.comedy winner. Bafta nominee. ¼ of BBC4 and Radio 4’s ‘Cowards’. Tom sings some songs, outlines some ideas, shows some pictures and hopes for the best. ‘Comedy genius’ (Guardian). |
One of the Cowards, who I haven’t seen live, but have seen a few videos on the you tube and have not been dissapointed.
| Hitler Moustache | |
| World premiere | |
| Reclaiming Chaplin’s moustache for comedy, ‘Headmaster’s Son’ star muses on iconography, the positive side of racism and why an innocent square inch of facial hair took the blame for Nazism. ‘Best comedian of his generation’ (GQ). |
Already a talking point, Richard Herring is undoubtedly one of the best comedians you can see at the moment. His show last year was one of only two 5 star reviews I gave for ThreeWeeks. Go see him.
